Programs & Services

Through our donation and educational workshop programs, we provide holistic services that deliver on our mission and vision to empower and educate families in need, and that aim to eliminate poverty.

If you are in need of items for your child, please visit our community partners page for a list of organizations that may be of assistance.

Donation Program

We partner with 80 shelters, social service agencies and other community organizations to provide urgently needed children’s supplies to at-risk families in New York City.

Educational Workshops

Our educational workshops deepen our ability to help struggling NYC families. We provide them tools and resources to build life skills to achieve self-sufficiency.

Our workshops are taught by educational leaders who are experts in their field. They volunteer their time to educate our families on topics such as GED training, maternal health, child development, breastfeeding, infant CPR, financial literacy, recognizing disabilities in children, early literacy and more.

Our workshops are open to all NYC families regardless of their affiliation with Little Essentials and they are 100% free of charge:

Our workshops will resume in October 2024. All sessions are held on Zoom.

Internship Program

Our internship program offers many opportunities to understand the ins and outs of nonprofit work. We provide a well-rounded experience where candidates will be able to add significant skills to their resumes while having a huge impact on the lives of underserved NYC children and their families.

We are seeking in-person, part or full time intern(s) to assist with community engagement and operational tasks at our warehouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Some of the schools that have participated in our internship program include New York University, Fashion Institute of Technology and more.
